Cooling these data centers will consume vast amounts of water—up to 6.6 billion cubic meters. For every 5-10 responses from your favorite GenAI tool, roughly 500ml of water is used. The construction of new data centers will also convert natural spaces into artificial ones, impacting biodiversity on a large scale.
